The Palace Pier officially opened on 20th of May 1899 after 3 years of construction and after facing many challenges along the way. However it transformed Brighton Palace Pier into a major entertainment venue hosting many iconic acts, including Stan Laurel and Charlie Chaplin!
To this day Brighton Palace Pier still attracts millions of visitors, sightseers, and day-trippers every year and continues to provide state of the art rides and arcade games alongside some fantastic dining locations including Palm Court Restaurant, Horatio's and The Sunset Garden Bar. Furthermore, Brighton Palace Pier has Brighton’s biggest indoor soft play area - Palace Play! This is a fantastic indoor, four-story, multi-purpose soft play area is for children of all ages. The area contains a toddler area in which parents can sit - plus there will be a brand-new café for parents to relax and have a coffee while the kids are having fun and the indoor Dome building boasts over 50 arcade and gaming machines including air hockey, dance mats and multiplayer games.
Access
Brighton Palace Pier is fully accessible by wheelchair, mobility scooter and most regular sized mobility aids. There are no steps to ascend in order to enter the pier and all the buildings are accessible via flat surface or ramps. It has 3 accessible toilets that include changing facilities and all assistance dogs are welcome.
Entry
Entry to the Pier is free, and there’s no need to book in advance – it’s open 10 - 8pm Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sundays 10 – 9pm.
