Black Brighton Market is a family friendly, all-day market held at The Actors pub in Kemptown. Black Brighton's aim is to provide opportunities for BIPOC creatives living in Brighton, harbouring an inclusive, supportive community, opening doorways for marketing, visibility, connection and collaborative opportunities - from visual artists to performers.

Initially a photography project by sole founder, creative entrepreneur and Brighton local, Jade Hylton, in her personal mission to connect with other BIPOC people across the city, Black Brighton has grown into a wonderful community resource.

The market itself has stalls selling the hard work of local artisans, food from The Caribbean Kitchen, a raffle, and open mic performances showcasing performing arts from spoken word to dance. Headlining this edition is Adriana Lord, an Afro-Cuban artist and activist with a passion for African diasporic culture, who uses her gift for poetry and performance to connect, entertain and raise awareness for important social issues.
