Mohammad Syfkhan @ The Rose Hill

“I did not speak English well, so music was the language I spoke to everyone because music is the language of the world. It talks about love of all kinds, the love of people for each other, and love of the homeland.”

Mohammad Syfkhan is a Syrian refugee who found a home - and indeed, a community - in Ireland in 2016, fleeing war. The release of his album, I Am Kurdish, in 2024, was met with reverence, and his music is described as “filled with an atmosphere of love, joy, and happiness”. 

Mohammad has been a professional musician since the 80's, performing for events across Syria as part of The Al-Rabi Band.
