Pattern Cutting Cultural Connections
A workshop for people raised between cultures, ready to reclaim their story.

Pattern Wiz are bringing you a four day workshop (split across two weekends) with the aim of pulling together loose cultural threads through designing and pattern cutting a garment that speaks to your unique cultural background.
Mentor Geri has 13+ years of experience working in luxury fashion, as well as being a trained therapist in hypnotherapy, somatic attachment therapy, Ayurvedic digestion and nutrition and energy psychology. Together, this broad skillset allows for this wonderfully creative and emotionally healing workshop.
Before the course, you’ll put together your own unique moodboard of inspiration from your heritage. Geri will guide you through self enquiry practice to identify and connect to lesser-explored parts of your identity.
Using this, you will design a one-of-a-kind garment that reflects your personal history, and learn pattern cutting skills such as critiquing a design, dart manipulation, adding volume, gathers and pleats, toiling and fitting your design.
You’ll leave with a workable pattern ready to be made up, a calico toile of your design fit and amended to you, and a deeper connection to yourself and your heritage.
