Ragged Life wants to introduce you to your new favourite hobby: rag rugging! In this class you’ll learn the ins and outs of designing and crafting your very own rag rug creations.

Rag rugging is an old technique used to transform old textiles into fresh new homeware.

The practice gained popularity during the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century, but lost favour due to its association with hard times, until WW2 revived the need for some thriftiness.

Today, it’s a fairly popular pastime in an increasingly environmentally conscious world - it’s a sustainable, creative form of recycling that bags you funky new DIY rugs, cushion covers, artworks, etc. The only limit is your imagination.

It’s an easy skill to learn - so no worries if you feel you’re not crafty! This is a great way to find an easy creative outlet, while making use of your old clothes.
