Friday Late: August
Every first Friday of the month, enjoy our exhibition spaces and shop until 8:00pm. The next Friday Late is on 2 August, and coincides with free drop-in workshops with artists Babalola Yusuf and Anne-Marie Watson, a harp performance in the Towner lift and a live podcast recording with Girls Twiddling Knobs.

Emma Stibbon: Melting Ice | Rising Tides, until 15 September 2024

Melting Ice | Rising Tides is Emma Stibbon’s first large-scale show at a major UK institution and acts as a stark reminder that the seemingly remote events of polar ice sheet melt is directly connected with the changes that we are witnessing in our local, more familiar UK landscape. Chalk & Sound: Girls Twiddling Knobs: Friday 2 August - 6.30pm to 7.30pm. FREE
Catch an exclusive live recording of the celebrated Girls Twiddling Knobs podcast, founded and presented by musician and sound artist Isobel Anderson to highlight the work of women making music with technology. Isobel will be joined by sound artist Daisy Stewart-Darling.
Maria Amidu: in the perpetual back and forth: Until 8 September
An immersive and emotional exhibition has been challenging the ways we interact with collections in gallery spaces through an activation which takes place daily at 4.00pm.
Towner Collection: Behind the Scenes: Art Store Tours now once per week!
Go behind the scenes and enjoy a fascinating introduction to our impressive Collection of over 5000 works in our bespoke art store. Tours now take place on alternating Sundays at 2.00pm and Tuesdays at 11.00am.
Creative Newhaven: Summer at the Sidings
Summer at The Sidings starts next Friday 2 August and will continue throughout August bringing you live entertainment on Friday nights and family-friendly fun on Saturday daytimes.
