Maple syrup and bacon or sugar and lemon… find it all in Brighton

A shining beacon in a bleak mid-February - Pancake Day is one to truly look forward too. Whether you’ll be tucking into a sweet or savoury creation, crepe or American style, Brighton’s got you covered…

32 Egremont Place, Brighton, BN2 0GA

Where better than an award-winning brunch spot to find amazing pancakes? Starfish & Coffee have won Best Brunch, Best Café and Best Café Culture over the past couple of years, so they certainly no their way around a breakfast menu. Choose from bacon or fruit pancakes, both of which are made with tasty buttermilk pancakes. Streaky bacon, blueberries and maple syrup accompany these for a treat straight from the US, and for a fruity treat enjoy banana and fruit compote (this option can also be made vegan!). Book in advance for a bottomless brunch to enjoy unlimited mimosas and prosecco alongside your pancake day brekkie.

Their pancakes are deliciously light and fluffy, with a huge selection of refreshing fruits or chocolatey combinations to choose from, along with the obligatory bacon and syrup! Music plays a huge part in the day-to-day running of this café, so expect to sit down and hear some of Brighton’s popular up-and-coming bands channelling their way through the speakers.

The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club have a small selection of ever-popular eateries in central London, but their Brighton restaurant is the first one to venture out of the big city! The funky decor and kitsch style prides itself in being a ‘little slice of Miami Vice’, and their all-American breakfast menu follows suit. They have a selection of breakfast pancakes, including eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes alongside fluffy pancakes. You’ll find more savoury options for their dinner menu, including pancakes with buttermilk chicken, cheese and hot sauce! They even offer gluten free andvegan pancakes with peanut butter, banana and jam!

Crepeaffaire

Whilst you can’t go wrong with a thick, American style pancake, sometimes only a French crepe will satisfy that pancake craving. Crepeaffair is your best bet for picking up a sweet or savoury crepe, with a huge selection of classic combos and a selection of added extras available. On the sweet side you’ll find a decadent Fierro Rocher, Oreo or Kit Kat crepe, whilst the savoury dishes include goats cheese creations and a tasty smoked salmon and cream cheese dish! They even do a margarita pancake that’s the closest you’re going to get to a pizza on Pancake Day.

Lovefit Café

They even offer protein pancakes which have been created with vanilla whey protein, perfect for before or after you’ve hit the gym!
