Shakespeare’s Head

The Shakespeare’s Head is the very definition of a hidden gem. Not only is it hidden away from the main epicentres of Brighton but it’s just an absolute gem of a pub. This cosy little pub boasts three outside areas (including a spacious courtyard), as well as plenty of cosy indoor seating. By the front door you’ll find a ramshackle selection of old board games to choose from, guarded by a fake skeleton (or, at least we hope it’s fake) - free to use if you’re eating or drinking at the pub! They offer a huge selection of LAINE beers and also do a decent range of cocktails and wines. Basically, anything that pairs well with the meaty star of their food menu…. the amazing sausage and mash!
The Caxton Arms

A friendly and super welcoming little backstreet traditional pub, with lots to keep you entertained. The food menu includes pub classics, fish n chips to a tremendous selection of burgers. Vegetarians and vegans are also well catered for, with some great options to choose from and if you love a Sunday Roast, this is the place to come. At the bar there is a fine selection of Shepherd Neame real ales, draft beers, wines and spirits including over 50 gins to choose from!
Other features include a split-level garden with a mezzanine balcony and downstairs patio! There's also over 50 board games to choose from including Lego and Darts, as well as being home to the only city centre bar billiards table.
