Horror In The Caves
Join Bristol Film Festival this Halloween for Horror In The Caves, a truly immersive cinema experience – if you can stomach it!

Screened deep in the Redcliffe Caves, this Halloween Bristol Film Festival is bringing you Horror in The Caves, a range of classic horror movies from the truly terrifying to the downright hilarious. But the audience won't be alone in the dark, as some live actors will be bringing our very own horror story to life around them.
Every year we screen the finest ‘subterranean nightmare’ film The Descent for Horror In The Caves, and since it’s turning 20, we’re screening it twice this year! Tickets always go fast for this, but watching it in the Caves is a truly immersive, and terrifying, experience, and possibly unsuitable for anyone with severe claustrophobia. It’s the ultimate way to experience Horror In The Caves – but you have been warned!
Redcliffe Caves are one of the most fascinating locations in Bristol. Originally created to mine sandstone glass in the 17th Century, these caves (technically a quarry!) have a rich and varied history, having been used by hermits, prisoners of war, and even as an air raid shelter.
Are you brave enough to venture into the Underground Cinema and discover the legend of The Bride? The resident ghost doesn't take too kindly to visitors…
