Merry and Wild: Christmas at Bristol Zoo Project

Join Bristol Zoo Project this Christmas for the Big Gift Hunt an unforgettable day out for the whole family, Saturday 29 November – Sunday 4 January 2026. Merry and Wild is filled with playful activities and heart-warming animal moments. Get face to face with giraffes on the raised walkway, watch cheetahs prowl and meet the lemurs in the walkthrough.

At Bristol Zoo Project Christmas isn’t just for people, it’s for the animals too! Join the festive trail to find the giant presents across the zoo, solve the riddles and match them to the animals. Discover what special treats the animals have been given, from festive snacks to enrichment surprises. Once the Big Gift Hunt has finished, hand in the answers for a chance to WIN a gift, including a day ticket, membership, premium cuddly toy, goodie bag, or even an animal experience!

Once you've guessed the gifts on the trail, see the animals receive their festive treats from the keepers! (Animal festive feeds are scheduled daily) it's a fantastic experience.  Then after all the excitement from the animals why not write a special wish for wildlife in a letter to Santa, at Bristol Zoo’s Project magical posting office (available at weekends and school holidays).

Want to get the ultimate Christmas photo? then step inside a giant snowglobe, Santa’s sledge, giant hanging bells and the Tipi Grotto. Can you find them all?

Finish off by warming up at the Courtyard Café, with a steaming hot chocolate, a mince pie, or festive treat!
