Clifton Car Boot Sale

TheLifeofSpicers.com

The Clanage, Clanage Road, Bower Ashton, Bristol BS3 2JX | 7.30am on Sundays & Bank Holidays

Conveniently set just 13 minutes from Bristol’s city centre, Clifton Car Boot Sale opens to sellers at 7.30am and has some good sized pitches, with buyers pouring in from 8.30pm. The site has hot food and drink on hand to keep you fed and warm, and they even allow you to bring your dog -  as long as you clean up any mess they make! This sale has the highest fees on our list, with sellers paying £15 per car plus £5 for a trailer or £20 per van. Buyers pay £2 per car or £1 per adult on foot (free for under-16s).

If you’re looking for something to do afterwards, why not pay a visit to Ashton Court Estate, which is literally on the site’s doorstep? Or at least take the scenic route through the estate and over the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Easter Compton Car Boot Sale

Bristol.Rocks

Washingpool Farm, Maine Road, Britol BS35 5RE | 6.30am-1pm every Sunday

This one is an early start! Sellers have half an hour to set up before buyers arrive at 7am, but we’ve seen Facebook messages advising sellers to get there as early as 5am for an indoor pitch (which are “like gold” in bad weather)! Sellers pay £10 per car, £15 per van, or £5 per trailer.

With a 1pm finish there’s time in the day for a visit to the Bristol Zoo Project, or even The Wave in-land surfing experience, if you’re not too tired or feel that you owe it to the kids!

Trench Lane Car Boot

BradleyStokeJournal.co.uk

Bradley Stoke, Bristol BS32 4JZ | 7am-4pm on Sundays

Take a drive into the countryside literally bordering on Bristol, and turn off of Trench Lane for Trench Lane Car Boot, which probably has the best fees going; sellers (who may arrive no earlier than 6am) only pay £7 for a car or £10 for a van, with no booking necessary. Buyers pay the very low fee of £1 per car or 50p on foot.

Afterwards, if you can fit your gear in the car, why not drop by Bagwood Carp Lake for a spot of fishing, or golf at the Woodlands Country Club? Or, if you can wrap up your car booting quick enough, head over to West Country Water Park!

TheMendipsRock.co.uk

Winchester Farm off Draycott Road, Cheddar, Somerset BS27 3RP | 6am-1pm on Sundays

A little further out (it takes 40-45 minutes by cr from Bristol city centre), but worth the trip for a few reasons, is the car boot sale in Cheddar, Somerset, one of the South West’s most established and well-loved sites. The sale takes place on a working farm in a stunning lakeside setting under the rolling Mendip Hills, with plenty of opportunities to socialise or enjoy as a family - and dogs are welcome too! On-site youll find a cafe, cash point, ince cream van plus food stalls with local produce.

Youre spoilt for choice when it comes to local attractions; take your pick from the Cheddar Gorge & Caves, the Wookey Hole Caves, the Bishops Palace & Gardens in Wells or Weston Super Mare’s Grand Pier, which are all not far from the site.

Bristol Sunday Market & Car Boot Sale

TobaccoFactory.com

Bristol Fruit Market, Albert Crescent, Bristol, BS2 0YQ | 9am-3pm on Sundays

Being so close to the city centre means many traders set up stall here that you wouldn’t find at a car boot further afield, although this also means there’s more of a commercial feel to this car boot sale. That said, there is plenty of space for cars, so sellers do come as early as 6.30. It’s definitely worth popping by of a casual Sunday for good food and the occasional surprise bargain.

If you fancy adding some play to your day, Wake The Tiger Amazement Park is just a short walk away!
