Don’t expect constant sunny skies throughout the February half term!

The half term holidays tend to drag when you're stuck inside with the kids all week, so be sure to get them out and about no matter what the weather! Check out our round up for the best things to do with kids in Bristol, even when the heavens have opened.

We the Curious

Anchor Road, Harbourside, Bristol, BS1 5DB

It should come as no surprise that We the Curious tops our list of best family activities for rainy days, but it does most certainly deserve that accolade! A centre of education and fun for younger children, We the Curious offers you the chance to teach your kids about science whilst keeping them entertained! The museum is entirely ‘hands on’, so your younger visitors are welcome to run around, touch and shout whilst interacting with the exhibits. Throughout the holidays you’ll find their resident science experts doing shows for younger kids, whilst their planetarium is also worth a visit (although, it does cost extra).

We the Curious costs £15.95 for adults and £10.45 for kids, with tickets available here.

Bristol Aquarium

Anchor road, Harbourside, Bristol, BS1 5TT

Kill two birds with one stone whilst visiting Harbourside and lose yourself for a few hours in Bristol’s aquarium! Dive into the deep blue sea and discover 40 fishy displays, with thousands of underwater creatures swimming around in the water. You’ll forget all about the rain falling outside when you’ve walked through the aquarium’s underwater tunnel, spotting coral and tropical fish. Visitors both young and old will adore looking out for rays, seahorses, puffers and even members of the shark family, as well as all the underwater flora that make up their habitat!

Bristol Aquarium costs £16.95 for adults and £10.85 for kids, with tickets available here.

Aerospace Bristol

Hayes Way, Patchway, Bristol, BS34 5BZ

Once you’ve explored the depths of the big blue sea, look up and check out the history of aviation! Bristol’s Aerospace is a fun filled afternoon out and a chance to learn about the aircrafts of years gone by. Their main exhibit is the iconic Concorde - a passenger jet that could cross the Atlantic in under three hours! Wander onto the 1320mph luxury vehicle and imagine getting to New York in record time. You’ll also learn loads more about the physics of flying and history of aviation, with younger kids helping Alfie Fox on a fact-finding trail.

Aerospace Bristol costs £17 for adults and £9.50 for kids, but it’s then free to return for an entire year! Tickets available here.

Redpoint

40 Winterstoke Road, Bristol, BS3 2NW

If you fancy giving your kids a bit of a break from the educational days out during the school holidays, then let them expend some energy in a totally new way - at a climbing wall! Redpoint’s Crazy Climb area contains an action-packed zone filled with light up challenges and fun climbing routes to tackle. Open sessions run right through the weekends and school holidays, and birthday parties are also on offer for larger groups! The fun doesn’t stop there for visitors both young and old, with separate devoted rock walls for children to learn how to climb, and a huge selection of routes for grown-ups to tackle!

Redpoint costs £15 for adults and from £12.50 for kids, but discounts are available for multiple visits. Check the price list here.

Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf

Cabot Circus, Glass Walk, Bristol, BS1 3BQ

Completing the week with a fun couple of hours, take a trip to Bristol’s Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf. You’ll find two 18-hole courses inside, with the option to just play 18 holes or go the whole hog and play 36 holes! Despite its jungle decor, active volcano and secret swamps, this golf experience is 100% indoors and therefore perfect for wet and windy days. This spot is open from 10am-11pm throughout the week, but due to the presence of a jungle bar, children are last admitted at 7pm!

Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf costs £8.50 for adults and £7 for children (for 18 holes). Please book online here.
