Eastleigh Film Festival returns for another year of movie-magic

From airport terminals to school corridors, this year's festival is the most exciting yet

Following a triumphant week of  film fun in 2016, which saw record numbers of sold-out screenings, this year's Eastleigh Film Festival promises an exciting variety of film classics, like When Harry Met Sally, Toy Story and the Die Hard Trilogy, as well as newer releases like Oscar-winning La La Land.

This year's festival will run from 25 September - 30 September as curators screen 19 films across 12 venues to match. The venues, located in site-specific large-scale locations, presents an intimate movie-going experience with the return of mini-screenings in collaboration with local businesses.

“I am thrilled to be bringing Eastleigh Film Festival back in September. It is a wonderful week of celebrating not only great films but also the Eastleigh community who get behind our ridiculous programme of laughs, tears and screams every year. I look forward to a week of mischievous, interactive movie-going magic," said festival director, Dan Hill.

The festival will also host a Film Careers Morning aimed at students and film fans alike. The event, running from 9.30am to 1pm, invites participants to attend an array of inspiring workshops based around different aspects of the film industry. As part of the event, celebrated independent director Neil Mcenery-West will return to the venue to host a Directing workshop, alongside other skills-based participatory courses that offer valuable insight into filmmaking.
