Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival

The UK’s largest international festival of new and experimental music returns for its 40th edition this November!

Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival is Britain's oldest and best known celebration of new music. Renowned across the world for its quality and innovation, this year's festival will showcase a progressive programme of exciting music including 32 World Premieres and 105 UK Premieres!

Ensembles, soloists and composers from across the world will perform throughout the festival, with highlights including:
  • The World Premiere of a major new work by James Dillon performed at the opening weekend by leading Scottish ensemble, Red Note.
  • Regular contributors The London Sinfonietta returning for another unmissable performance
  • The World Premieres of works by five young British composers – Laura Bowler, Laura Cannell, Kit Downes, Lauren Sarah Hayes and Laurence Osborn
  • A major audio-visual exhibition at Huddersfield Art Gallery running alongside the Festival
  • A day of FREE Music on Monday 20 November
Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival runs from Friday, November 17 - Sunday, November 26, 2017.
