Quentin Blake: The Only Way to Travel

Quentin Blake: The Only Way to Travel

Opening next month at Jerwood Gallery, Hastings, is the largest UK public gallery exhibition of Quentin Blake's work to date.

14 June 2017 –  15 October 2017 | Visit website

The celebrated artist, illustrator and first Children’s Laureate Sir Quentin Blake (b. 1932) has created new works for this major exhibition at Jerwood Gallery in Hastings that will explore challenging issues from mental health to the refugee crisis.

The Only Way to Travel, which will include 100 works by the nation's favourite illustrator, will take visitors on a journey through modern life and the creative mind. Featuring extraordinary beasts, machines and bizarre narrative scenes, Blake will explore themes of loneliness, depression and people dislocated from their homes, as well as energy and enthusiasm for life.

Keep your eyes peeled for a special behind the scenes look at the exhibition! Follow the gallery Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest updates.

Quentin Blake: The Only Way to Travel is on at Jerwood Gallery, Hastings, from 14 June to 15 October 2017.
