While Cornwall’s Eden Project is a great year-round attraction, the addition of an ice rink come winter is yet another incentive to visit. As part of ‘Christmas in Cornwall’ the Eden Ice Rink will host general skating sessions, parent and toddler ice-play sessions and skating lessons. While there, don’t forget to check out the dazzling Festival of Light and Sound, stroll through the festive plant displays in the Mediterranean Biome and, of course, visit Father Christmas himself.

The Eden Ice Rink is now open until Sunday 18 February 2018 at Bodelva, Par PL24 2SG

From the rooftop SKYLIGHT to Somerset House and Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland, London will host a plethora of fabulous outdoor ice-rinks this winter. However, for a truly spectacular setting don’t miss a true classic – ice skating at The Natural History Museum. Against the beautiful backdrop of Alfred Waterhouse’s buildings, and trees dripping in fairy lights, lace up your skates and glide around the rink which also features a magnificent Christmas tree in the centre of the ice. Better yet, Hotel Chocolat will be on hand serving their luxurious hot chocolates.

Natural History Museum Ice Rink runs until Sunday January 7 2018 at Cromwell Road, London SW7 5BD

After you’ve skated around the outdoor rink, head over to the indoor heated café and bar where you can enjoy fresh wood fired pizzas, champagne and mulled wine. Alongside the rink, you’ll find the UK’s first outdoor glow-in-the-dark mini golf course, while Bath’s famed Christmas market is only a matter of steps away.

Bath On Ice runs daily from Friday 17th November 2017 to Tuesday 2nd January 2018 (except Christmas Day) at Royal Pavilion, Royal Ave, Royal Victoria Park, Bath BA1 2NR

Set outside the historic Royal Pavilion, the illuminated pink rink is a strong contender for the most beautiful ice rink in the South East. With spectacular views and comfy sofas, the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink is the perfect spot to unwind after work, take a romantic date or spend a day out with the whole family. After your session, refuel at the Ice Rink Bar & Kitchen which will be serving delicious stone-baked pizzas, steaming cups of hot chocolate with marshmallows, and mulled wine or cider. The bar also offers an extensive selection of local ale, craft beers, and fourteen different types of gins for those after something slightly stronger.

London isn’t the only city with an iconic Winter Wonderland. Cardiff’s very own Winter Wonderland is a local favourite, and returns this year with the popular Admiral ice rink. Take in the sparkling views of City Hall and the night sky as you twirl around, while the addition of a clear span roof means that skaters can enjoy the rink come rain, hail or shine. Having surely worked up an appetite, refuel and enjoy some ‘Après Skate’ at the Bierkeller Bar where you can sample heartwarming Gluhwein or have a refreshing beer. German sausages cooked on a traditional swing grill and freshly made crepes will also be available at the authentic chalet units.

Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland runs from Thursday 9 November 2017 - Sunday 7 January 2018 at City Hall Lawn, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3ND.
