Aroop Roy has gone from strength-to-strength the last few years, collaborating with the right artists (namely Mr Scruff) and remixing the right tracks to get his foot in the door. 

For his brand of dance, Aroop Roy looks to the rest of the world for inspiration. He has the foundational structural elements of house, a framework by which to adopt organic sounds, wherever he may find them. His remix of K.O.G.’s ‘Ebenezer’ is exemplary of his work, fine-tuning the beat to suit the dancefloor while emphasizing the tracks original spirit; not entirely reinventing, just readjusting, adding his own personality and flair atop an already flairful performance. 

Hailed by Gilles Peterson as “a brilliant producer who never fails,” London-based artist Aroop Roy is a master of genre fusion, seamlessly blending jazz, garage, house, Afrobeat, and Latin into a cohesive and vibrant sound.

In 2021, he founded the label Vive La Musique, a platform dedicated to his curatorial mission of offering "new life to lost and undiscovered masterpieces from around the world," further establishing his role as both a creator and custodian of global rhythm.
