100 years of art deco style inspires a season of events and a new exhibition at London Transport Museum.
Enjoy a jam-packed season of events and a new blockbuster exhibition in the Global Poster Gallery. Explore the origins of art deco and its influence on iconic transport posters and transport design over the last 100 years. The new exhibition in the Global Poster Gallery Art deco: the golden age of poster design – explores how art deco made its mark on London transport’s art and design heritage. Opening 21 November until Spring 2027.
Marking the centenary of the 1925 Paris Exhibition a pivotal moment in the origins of art deco, this is an opportunity to learn about the artistic moment, see unique artworks that have never been on public display, and explore the art deco and modernist architecture of Charles Holden in change the face of London with his remarkable Tube station designs.
More than 100 original posters from London Transport Museum’s collection, alongside loans from significant collections will be on display. This includes posters from design greats such as Edward McKnight Kauffer, Dora Batty, Jean Dupas and Munetsugu Satomi.
