Gilbert & George: Sex, Money, Race, Religion
20% off all tickets to a unique Gilbert & George collaboration

“Music is the Enemy”
So say iconic artists Gilbert & George.
In what’s one of the year’s more unusual collaborations, they combine forces with the world-renowned Philharmonia Orchestra this October for a one-off concert that’s a unique mix of art, documentary and music.
Live music by Wagner, Bach, Duke Ellington and others illustrates key themes of the duo’s art. Sex is represented by ecstatic and sensuous music from Wagner’s opera Tristan and Isolde. Bach’s music and his devout beliefs illustrate religion, Dukas’ score to Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice underlines the corrupting power of money while Duke Ellington’s music, a mix of spirituals and swing, addresses race.
Art by Gilbert & George will be projected above the stage on the Royal Festival Hall’s big screen, and will be spliced with exclusive documentary footage filmed specifically for the event with the artists.
While the pair have said they never listen to music, they’ve nonetheless hand-picked some favourite songs which complete the evening.
