Continuing their 20th anniversary celebrations with another daytime disco on 19th October at KOKO.
Guilty Pleasures continue to celebrate their 20th anniversary year on Saturday 19th October and are BACK AT KOKO for another Daytime Disco!
Before Abba became cool (again), before DJ’s played Queen in clubs (without irony) & before Toto’s “Africa’ notched up over a BILLION streams - there was the Guilty Pleasures club night. Conceived in 2004 by DJ, radio &TV presenter, Sean Rowley as a slot within his weekly show on BBC Radio London, celebrating the songs that had been swept under the carpet. Born out of a frustration for boring soulless “super” clubs that dominated the culture, Guilty Pleasures took their mission as to take back control & put the ‘fun’ back into nightlife across the UK.
Each night saw DJs, dance troupes, live bands, cabaret performers and drag queens propel the crowd to a heightened state of pop frenzy. They even had a Guilty Pleasures confessional booth with people revealing their personal guilty pleasures to a shameless priest. The Guilty Pleasures club night quickly became a phenomenon, running a monthly residency at KOKO for over 15 years & in cities across the UK.
Back in February of this year saw GP return to KOKO for their first Daytime Disco which SOLD OUT a MONTH in advance. And now Sean and the Guilty gang are back at KOKO for another very special Daytime Disco continuing their 20th anniversary celebrations with all the usual thrills and spills associated with the party: huge pop anthems from the 80s-00s, a room devoted to sing-a-long power ballads (Toto, Bonnie Tyler) and pop divas (Kylie, Madonna, Cher, Mariah) and country music bangers (Dolly, Shania etc ) , balloon drops & dance squads. Plus, a beautiful outdoor terrace & pizza stalls. AND you’ll all be home in bed by 10pm !!
"It was UNBELIEVABLE - best event I have been to in years. You absolutely smashed it so thank you."
"I sang so hard I lost my voice. What a fantastic daytime disco."
