A fantastic way to experience the jazzy, breezy styles of Hollie Cook, open-air at the grand Fox and Firkin garden in Lewisham, where she is joined by experienced singer Eva Lazarus, Aleighcia Scott, and Josh Skints DJing.

Born in London in 1987, Hollie Cook is a British singer, keyboardist, and purveyor of what she terms “tropical pop”, a sun-drenched fusion of classic reggae, lovers rock, and 60s girl-group harmonies. The daughter of Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook, she grew up immersed in music but forged a path distinctly her own, rejecting formal performance training in favour of intuitive artistry.

Her career began in earnest when Ari Up of The Slits invited her to contribute backing vocals to their 2006 EP, Revenge of the Killer Slits. Cook soon became an official member, touring extensively and featuring on the band’s final studio recordings.

A breakthrough came with her feature on Prince Fatty’s underground hit “Milk and Honey” (2009), which received national radio play and placement on Grey’s Anatomy. This led to her self-titled 2011 debut album, produced by Prince Fatty and featuring reggae royalty like George Dekker (The Pioneers) and Dennis Bovell.

Drawing inspiration from lovers rock icons Janet Kay and Phyllis Dillon, Cook’s sound is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. She has collaborated widely, from Jamie T to Ian Brown, and performed with projects like The Rotten Hill Gang.

Today, Hollie Cook stands as a defining voice in contemporary reggae, effortlessly bridging punk’s DIY spirit with reggae’s soulful depth.
