Jamie xx leads his first summer festival outing, pulling in the biggest possible names in dance, old and new, for a very special weekend in the UK summer festival calendar.
Victoria Park is about to witness something special this June. The debut edition of LIDO Festival just dropped its biggest surprise yet: Jamie xx and Skrillex will deliver a rare back-to-back set on Saturday, 7 June. This dream-team collaboration headlines what was already shaping up to be one of the summer's most exciting lineups, all personally curated by Jamie xx himself.
The festival's opening weekend now reads like a who's-who of forward-thinking electronic music. Alongside the Jamie xx/Skrillex showdown, expect Nia Archives bringing her high-energy jungle revival, Arca's boundary-pushing sonic experiments, and Panda Bear's hypnotic psychedelia. Sampha and Romy will grace the stage too, while dance music legends DJ Harvey, Shy FX, Tim Reaper, Todd Edwards and Bullet Tooth add their own special back-to-back magic to the mix.
Jamie xx is also transplanting his beloved 'The Floor' residency to the park for a special one-off, featuring DJ Harvey on a marathon three-hour set. It's a homecoming celebration for the producer, coming off the success of his first solo album in nearly a decade, 'In Waves'.
But LIDO isn't just about the music. The festival's putting its money where its mouth is with a strong community focus, partnering with East London Arts and Music to give students real-world festival experience. Between the genre-defying lineup and its grassroots ethos, LIDO might just be the festival that captures London's creative spirit better than anything we've seen in years.
