Late Late Electronic with Alexander Flood - at Ronnie Scott’s Bar

11 July 2025 Ronnie Scott's Bar

Burgeoning jazz-electronic bandleader Alexander Flood takes his broken-beat styles to the top floor of Ronnie's, the proving ground for young, international jazz artists.

Here's an exciting one: Australian drummer and producer Alexander Flood, one of the most dynamic forces in contemporary groove music, masterfully blending nu-jazz, deep house, broken beat, and drum and bass, comes to Ronnie's bar for a late showing of genre-blending excellence. Leading his own genre-defying ensemble from the drum throne, Flood pushes rhythmic boundaries with precision, power, and improvisational flair, earning acclaim across Australia and beyond.

Fresh off a successful 2023 UK/EU tour, Flood returns with new energy following the release of ARTIFACTUAL RHYTHM on revered UK label Atjazz Record Company. His trajectory has been meteoric since winning Australia’s Best Up-and-Coming Drummer in 2016, including touring with six-time Grammy-nominee Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah. His recent single, Vibracao, propped up by a remix fro Kaidi Tatham, puts hime somewhere between London's house and jazz scene; it's a shame he wasn't around in Ladbroke Grove for the early 2000s, he would have been the darling of the broken beat scene.

Flood’s 2023 Ruby Awards Young Achiever Award and Robert Stigwood Fellowship (South Australia) cement his status as a visionary reshaping live electronic and jazz fusion. With his band’s hypnotic polyrhythms and dancefloor-ready spontaneity, every performance is a masterclass in future groove
