Fantastic events this October including a supernatural, fun-filled Halloween!

Autumn Bird Walk: 4 & 21 October
It’s the start of autumn and there is nothing better than a peaceful autumn walk through the wetlands as the season shifts and birdlife begins to move. Look out for winter visitors like Shoveler, Wigeon, and Gadwall who will be arriving, while overhead skies may carry the calls of migrating Pipits and Finches. Along the marsh, we’ll be on the lookout for Stonechat, Snipe and we might even catch a glimpse of an early-arriving Bittern.
Common Bird Photography Workshop: 11 October
Join wildlife photographer Harry Rice for a relaxed and practical workshop focused on photographing some of the UK’s most familiar birds in the beautiful setting of WWT London Wetland Centre. Ideal for beginners and enthusiasts looking to improve their skills. Price: £60 (including admission).
The Urban Birder Course: 12 October
An ideal introduction to appreciating and identifying the diverse bird species that call our cities home. Led by renowned birding expert David Lindo. Price: £20 per person.
Super Natural October half term: 25 October - 3 November
For those who love the supernatural but not the spook WWT London is the place to be. Escape the ghouls and goblins and step into an adventure that will leave big and little nature fans spellbound. Book ahead and save 10%!
For one week only experience these enchanting activities:
- Weave a little magic with a handmade willow wand
- Mix a magical potion and cast a spell for wetlands
- Search for spotted tops, giant domes, and more on a fungi hunt
- Bring the wetlands to life by sculpting your own clay creature
Pick up a super natural log book and capture all the magic of adventure! Plus, discover the super natural wetlands by navigating the balance beams and rope bridges on the Wild Walk or creating your very own wetland cuisine in the mud kitchen! There’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Wetland Wellbeing Workshop- Weave with Bullrush: 25 October
Learn new skills and enjoy time in nature in the beautiful wetland centre. Learn simple weaving techniques to make a matt using common reeds harvested from the wetlands. Price: £5 (includes admission to the centre).
