Anyone who has seen Osunlade perform live knows exactly how to compliment him. “When you listen to his sets, it doesn't even sound like music, it's a spiritual journey”, as I once overheard in a smoking area. I've heard others report a similarly trance-like state which overcomes them at an Osunlade set. This is a man who knows exactly what he is doing.
Somewhere between disco and house, Osunlade has always been hell-bent on doing his own thing. He can bang out a deep house track with ease, he can rework RnB into something completely unrecognisable, he can overlap hip-hop and disco with zero effort, and, he can blend all of these styles and variations into one set. He's much more special than your average DJ. His recent set at Djoon got everyone off their phones and into the dance.
