Raising Gays
New musical brings pride, parents and plenty of heart to the Garrick Theatre.
Exploring modern parenthood and allyship, new musical Raising Gays launches in the West End this July with a special concert reading at the Garrick Theatre on Sunday 5th July 2026 at 5pm, during London Pride weekend.
Set in the quiet Somerset town of Little Malden, Raising Gays follows a group of parents navigating the joys, confusion and pitfalls of raising queer children. When they find themselves unexpectedly organising a parents’ float for the town’s first-ever Pride parade, they must confront their own beliefs, biases and fears in their determination to show up for their kids. The stakes could not be higher. There’s no manual and a hundred different ways to mess it all up.
This concert reading, with piano accompaniment, features a fantastic cast of West End stars and rising talent including Damian Humbley as Benji Sutton-Cole, Sarah Ingram as Jenny Bennet, Melanie La Barrie as Steph Eastmond, Michael Matus as Paul Bennet, Joanna Riding as Marcie Betheridge, and Sydney Sainté as Mitch Sutton-Cole.
With the book by Micha Mirto and music and lyrics by Jordan Paul Clarke this script-in-hand presentation is designed to introduce the piece to the world before it embarks on its exciting journey.
Brimming with humour and heart and completely gorgeous tunes – Raising Gays is a musical for everyone who’s ever had a kid (or a parent).
