This winter, Skate at Somerset House with Virgin Atlantic Holidays returns as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, from 12th November to 11 January, transforming the iconic courtyard into London’s most magical festive destination. Hailed as one of the capital’s favourite winter experiences, Skate at Somerset House signals the start of the festive period with unrivalled skating, contemporary music and tasty food and drink. From skating lessons with Skate School to trailblazing DJs on the rink-side decks and it's all set against the dazzling backdrop of a magnificent 40ft Christmas tree.

This year’s highlights include:

  • A bold new commission by artist Harold Offeh, turning the rink into a playful canvas of movement and creativity
  • A line-up of Skate Lates, with DJ takeovers from Foundation FM, Ruf Dug, Sue Veneers and a special Jennie Baptiste: Rhythm & Roots night
  • Cosy drinks and treats in the Skate Lounge, with DJ sets streamed rink side
  • Alpine-inspired dining at The Chalet by Jimmy Garcia
  • Festive sweet treats from Blondies Kitchen, joining the line-up for the first time
  • The return of the Shelter Boutique, with donated collections from Oliver Bonas, AllSaints, Nobody’s Child and more
  • Skate School and Kids’ Skate Club, plus Chilled Out and wheelchair-accessible sessions

Whether it’s your first time gliding across the rink or part of a treasured annual tradition, Skate is a place to make lasting festive memories with friends, family and loved ones – and this year promises to be othe most ambitious yet.
