Love, conflict and space travel collide in this charming and compelling new play.
Almanac Theatre proudly presents The Fallout, a compelling new play by Hattie Collins that takes audiences on an emotional journey through love, conflict, and the impact of space travel. This thought-provoking production will tour venues in South West England and London from October to November 2024.
With 2024 now the year of the first ever privately funded spacewalk, The Fallout becomes all the more timely, delving into the consequences of the burgeoning space travel industry on human health and relationships.
Set in a world not-so-distant from our own, The Fallout, tells the story of Hazel, a dedicated doctor, and Astra, a space shuttle engineer, who find themselves in a whirlwind romance. But their love is tested when the space travel industry’s impact on peoples’ health forces Hazel to confront her deepest values.
Critics have already praised The Fallout for its ‘dynamic’ and ‘touching’ portrayal of modern dilemmas, while Oscar Owen, Producer at The Bush Theatre, calls it “one of the most exciting new plays I’ve read recently.”
Almanac Theatre, led by Hattie Collins, produces female-led work that centres on contemporary issues and South West stories.
