An aphrodisiac is never a bad idea for a date, so we recommend tucking into their deliciously fresh oysters whilst sipping on a satiating glass of champagne. For the mains, why not share a truffle and champagne humble pie whilst you not-so-humbly woo your date in the luxury surroundings. If you want to enjoy yourself it's best to come with a full wallet. Clos Maggiore is a consistent contender on the list of top romantic restaurants in London, and there's plenty reason why. Just one look at the interior and you're sold. The ceiling is draped in a canopy of blossoming flowers that will envelope you and your guest in the romantic sight and aroma of springtime, no matter the weather. When the grey London weather is getting you down and you want to bring some sunshine into your romantic life, there's no better idea than to transport yourself to a Trattoria. Luckily, you don't have to get a plane ticket for this one as it's conveniently located in the heart of Shoreditch. Best yet, it's run by a crazy bunch of 85 young and passionate Bel Pease and Naples natives.

Gloria is the brainchild of Frenchman Tigrane Seydoux and Victor Lugger. A loud, vibrant, charming place. It's guaranteed to inject a little character into your evening. Bringing the coast of Capri to the capital, the menu provides an explosive mix of Italian classics with products that are imported directly from Italy. Whether you tuck into the Cacio e Pepe or some delicious gelato you'll be well fed, and satisfied and leave feeling like you've got a little bitta Italy with you. Sessions Arts Club

Old Sessions House, 24 Clerkenwell Grn, London EC1R 0NA

Self proclaimed urban sanctuary, Sessions Arts Club sits in the old judges dining room at Sessions House which is a beautiful Grade II listed building. The dining room is surrounded by three terraces equipped with fireplaces, a rooftop bar and garden. The thing that makes SAC special is that it's not just a restaurant, but also an art and performance space that shifts via its curated collective programme, making it not just romantic but also and interesting place to go, especially if it's a first date and conversations are a tough one for you!

Enchanting even the most cynical of diners, this place boasts stripped-down walls, arched windows, flowy staircases and dusky colours that will have you feeling like you're in an old romantic novel. There was a wealth of talent involved in bringing this place together and the menu was meticulously thought out by Chef Florence Knight. Feast away on sharing plates of pan carasau, Jerusalem artichokes and shrimp croquettes whilst you are surrounded by flickering candlelight. Romance incarnate we think.

We will point out the menu changes weekly so always keep an eye out on their website before heading over with a dish in mind. Reservations can be made here.
