Trick or treat, trick or treat, give us something good to eat!

As the full rendition of the classic Halloween rallying cry goes - Trick or Treat, Trick or Treat, give us something good to eat! Whilst we'd probably all be more than happy inhaling a bucket full of candy and chocolate from the cosy confines of the sofa this Halloween season, (because who actually gives the sweets out to people? Madness!) we thought we'd hop on our broomsticks and scout out the weird and wonderful food and drink offerings this capital has to offer so that you can Trick or Treat yo'self.

Enjoy the booooooze at 69 Colebrooke Row

Halloween is known as a time when things go bump in the night, and if you're not careful, the thing in question could be you after sampling too many of the devilishly delicious cocktails at 69 Colebrooke Row. To celebrate All Hallow's Eve they're running a special cocktail-making masterclass where you can try your hand at mixing some seasonal spooktacular favourites. Despite the sinister sounding drinks, the class itself is friendly and informal but highly informative. With their fully stocked mixing stations and small class sizes, it's the perfect way to indulge your inner mad scientist with a hands-on approach to concocting your own Halloween creations.

Our favourite crafty wizards over at Drink, Shop & Do have used their powers to create another spine-tingling selection of Halloween activities, ranging from the crafty to the creepy. Also, keep your eyes peeled for details of their fangtastic Halloween party taking place on 1 November - it'd be ghoulish of you to miss out!

Take a journey to the underworld with Funicular Productions

If the idea of an evening combining immersive theatre with luxury dining sounds right up your dark scary alley, then step aboard a luxury underground carriage in the heart of East London, the setting for Funicular Productions latest concoction, Journey to the Underworld. Once aboard you'll find yourselves as passengers on a trip to the world of The Dark One. In this dark fairytale of danger, lust, hope and love, you'll enjoy your last three course meal courtesy of Masterchef The Professionals finalist Louisa Ellis, as well as some seven deadly sin inspired cocktails good enough to make any non-goers green with envy. Amongst the period décor and eerie oozing smoke, join Claude the shackled conductor and his lowly assistant Gordy on a quest to outwit the ghastly Gatekeeper, hunched Harbinger and devilish Dark One. Lets hope it's not a one-way ticket.

Journey to the Underworld is running 26 September - 10 November. Book tickets here.

Lost Boys Drink-Along at Lost Boys Pizza

When it comes to combining classic pop culture references with a damned good pizza, North London haunt Lost Boys are the kings. Never one to miss a trick, they're having a ticketed screening of their namesake, 80s cult teen vampire flick, The Lost Boys, with bottomless beer, wine or bubbles during the movie. As well as the alc-ghoul-hol, you also get to enjoy one of their signature charcoal pizzas. Will you try a chorizo and chilli taste sensation that is Fangs for the Memories? Or if you're strictly against bloodsucking then perhaps the vegan options of The Coffin Dodger or Kale All Vampires will save you from driving a stake (or should that be steak?) into the hearts of any vicious vamps. There's even post-film cocktails including the brilliantly named Justice 4 Barb, although if you play along with the drinking game of the night, drinking every time someone says “Michael”, then you may be in the land of the undead way before the credits roll.

Lost Boys Drink-Along, 28 October - 1 November, Lost Boys Pizza, 141 Junction Road, Archway, N19 5PX
