A Guide to Free and Cheap Yoga in London

The London Buddhist Centre aim to offer the liberating potential of the Buddha’s teaching to anyone irrespective of means. They run free lunchtime meditation classes and various evening sessions six days a week (suggested donation jars lurk discreetly by the exit). Yoga classes are run every lunchtime 12.00 – 12.45pm ( Mon - Fri) and Saturday 10.00–11.15am & 11.30–12.45pm, cost £9. Evenings (Mon – Fri) 5.30 – 6.30pm, cost £11.  

The style of yoga they teach is based on Hatha, and the Friday evening class is Restorative yoga. The teachers bring their own individual experiences of movement, meditation, Buddhist practice and occasional poetry readings to the classes.

Not far from from the Buddhist Centre you will find the charity St Margaret’s House, a community Arts and Wellbeing Centre that believes in the transformative power of the arts and community connection, to impact people’s physical and mental health and wellbeing. They which offer a wide variety of yoga classes for a range of purposes, including: 

  • Dynamin Vinyasa: Mondays, 6.30-7.30pm. Tickets from £4
  • A smooth, continuous, playful flow of different yoga postures.  
  • Integral Yoga Gentle Restorative Class Mondays, 11am-12.30pm. Tickets from £4
  • Addressing the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of being: gentle postures followed by breathing practices, deep relaxation and an introduction to meditation.
  • Womens Wellbeing Tuesdays, 11am-12noon FREE
  • A free women’s wellbeing session providing a welcoming and safe space to take part in gentle movement and meditation
  • Gentle Yopga and Sound Tuesdays, 7-8pm. Tickets from £4
  • A class is for anyone who wishes to practise gently and relax deeply.

Started in 2014 Yogarise are a London based, family run, community yoga & pilates studio with great vibes, excellent teachers and a huge range of classes. Including varying vinyasa styles, Reformer Pilates and Iyengar yoga. Discover sweaty sessions like Rocket and challenging Dharma yoga, beginners yoga classes and breathwork. There really is  something for everyone at Yogarise. 

Alongside regular membership they also offer the fantastic Community Yoga class which starts at £7 for in person and £3 for on line. These sessions are often taught by new or training yoga teachers and are a fantastic opportunity for people of all levels to get involved with yoga.

Free Park Yoga runs every Sunday morning and aims to improve the physical and mental health of all its participants. Their aim is simple, to make yoga inclusive, accessible, welcoming, friendly and non-judgmental for everyone, regardless of age, background or ability. 

The 2026 season will run from Sunday 3rd May to Sunday 13th September 2026 and is free to attend and there is no need to book. All sessions are held in beautiful park locations, last yesr  being held in Finsbury Park and Battersea Park.
