Shaw Theatre

The Shaw Theatre in Kings Cross, boasts a storied history dating back to its origins as the Bedforbury Theatre in 1971. Renamed in 1998 to honor the iconic playwright George Bernard Shaw, who once resided nearby, this 446-seat venue has been a cultural hotspot for drama, dance, musical theatre, and concerts. Over the decades, it has hosted a number of stars including Elton John, Queen, and Boy George, solidifying its status as a premier destination for both performers and audiences alike.

The theatre's striking contemporary sculpture, St Joan, pays homage to Shaw's famed play about Joan of Arc. Beyond its rich theatrical heritage, the Shaw Theatre is seamlessly integrated into the Pullman London St Pancras hotel complex, offering a luxurious backdrop for visitors. The hotel provides an ideal setting for pre-show dining at the GA Restaurant, renowned for its Modern European cuisine and extensive '50 Tastes of Gin' Gin Bar, ensuring a memorable experience from start to finish.

Following a comprehensive renovation in 1998, the Shaw Theatre reopened its doors with enhanced facilities including a spacious auditorium, state-of-the-art technical capabilities, and versatile staging, making it a sought-after venue for conferences, screenings, and prestigious events. Despite a brief closure due to a fire in 2018, the theatre emerged stronger, continuing to serve as a pillar of artistic expression and community engagement.

Today, the Shaw Theatre remains an integral part of London's cultural landscape, welcoming diverse productions and audiences from near and far.
