Have you ever wondered what really happened to Jack and Rose that fateful night? Our beloved story begins when Céline Dion surprises tourists during a Titanic museum tour to announce that she survived the sinking of the luxury passenger ship and wants to share her story of what really happened to Jack and Rose (as portrayed in the movie).
This wild parody brings a new, unique perspective to some of the film’s most beloved scenes, as Dion camps it up, sets her diva scale to 100 and belts out her greatest hits, including “My Heart Will Go On”, “All by Myself” and “To Love You More”. If you’re a fan of the classic film Titanic and love all things campy, over-the-top, and laugh-out-loud funny, then this musical parody is an absolute must-see.
The whole cast is incredible with so many standout performances, but its Lauren Drew who plays Céline who is just phenomenal. She’s magnetic, hilarious, and boy she can sing. She maintains the right balance of parody with a powerhouse performance throughout the show and she captures the essence of the Canadian pop queen to perfection while putting her own stamp on the role. She can switch between being the hostess, narrator, stand-up comic and pop icon, and when she’s not onstage, you can’t wait for her to return.
Kat Ronney (Rose) and Rob Houchen (Jack) pull off all kinds of antics as Jack and Rose and bring genuine heart to their absurd romance, while Layton Williams who takes on a variety of roles from camp museum guide and a suggestive Seaman, to a Tina Turner-inspired “Iceberg B-tch”, sets the stage alight during a rendition of “River Deep, Mountain High”. Every member of the cast gets full marks for perfect comic timing and first-class vocals.
The whole show is chaotic, loud, unfiltered, and completely unhinged. It will make you laugh until you cry and sing until your voice hurts. It’s knowingly ridiculous, joyously over-the-top and If you’re after a night of pure escapism with incredible musical performances, then this is your ship.
