The Charlatans 30th Anniversary Best of Tour Announced
The Charlatans have 2 big things to shout about – the return on their delayed Anniversary Best of Tour interrupted by Covid and release of a special album box set on limited edition blue vinyl on Then Recordings through Republic Of Music.
‘A Head Full Of Ideas’ features five albums and an exclusive seven - inch single and is a career-spanning collection that sums up their remarkable progress from 1990 Manchester scene hopefuls to one of the UK’s most enduring and best-loved bands. The accompanying tour will visit eighteen cities and will kick off at The Limelight in Belfast on the 22nd of November and finish up in Aberdeen on the 20th of December 2021.
In a remarkable and genre bursting career, The Charlatans have notched up thirteen Top 40 studio albums - three of them number ones - alongside twenty two hit singles, four of them Top 10. The rollercoaster highs have been accompanied by some shattering lows, any which one of them could have felled a less resilient band, from nervous breakdowns to near bankruptcy and the deaths of two founder members.
Somehow, they have not just carried on but adapted and transformed many times over the years. The classic Charlatans sound - driving Hammond organ, Northern Soul and house-influenced rhythms, swaggering guitars and Tim Burgess’s sunny yet somehow yearning vocal - is instantly recognisable. And in spite of everything they have been through their music is now more relevant than ever, The Guardian described their most recent album ‘Different Days’ as “one of their best ever”.
Their iconic and hugely adored live track ‘One To Another’ (circa 1997) provides the titles for the individual vinyl collection within the box set. Each piece of vinyl is named after a lyric from the song.
Tickets for the tour go on sale 10am Friday 30th April and will be available from /

Shed Seven Announce New UK 2021 Tour
Acclaimed York five piece and one of the leading lights of Britpop, Shed Seven have today announced a massive UK 2021 tour performing all their greatest hits and fan favourites live.
Shed Seven have achieved great success since they burst onto the scene in 1994. The Sheds have so far released five studio albums including 2017’s top 10 album ‘Instant Pleasures’ and this year mark the 25th anniversary of their landmark album ‘A Maximum High’, featuring the anthems ‘Going For Gold’ and ‘Getting Better’.
Last year the band achieved their 6th top 40 album with the self-released “Another Night, Another Town” - a live album which captured their dynamic performances and anthemic songs from recordings of their 2019 tour and 2018 headline Manchester Castlefield Bowl show.
Since getting back together in 2007, Shed Seven have continued to sell out shows across the UK including their first ever headline arena date at Leeds First Direct Arena in 2019 where they performed to a 10,000 strong sold-out crowd.  About the upcoming tour Rick Witter said:

Scouting For Girls Release New Studio Album, Easy Cover

Surrounding themselves with sources of comfort and escapism after a tumultuous year, English indie-pop band Scouting For Girls release their new studio album Easy Cover - a collection of 11 tracks celebrating their broad array of musical influences.
Going back to the music and culture of their childhoods in the 1980s, the band regrouped during what should have been a summer of festivals to curate a joyful album of 80s covers, alongside some incredible new, original tracks inspired by the music of the era.
The result - a glittering LP full of solid gold bops from the bands’ favourite musical memories, from Tears For Fears, The Waterboys, Cyndi Lauper, Whitney Houston and Phil Collins. “We’re not trying to do justice to these songs- that’s impossible! We’re just trying to have fun and take them out on the road to give people the night out they deserve after 2020.”
Easy Cover (inspired by Phil Collins’ “Easy Lover”) was originally intended as a rather sedate, acoustic EP before frontman Roy Stride decided to shelve the project - reminding himself that Scouting for Girls should never try to be too serious or clever. Then, during lockdown, Roy found himself with spare time and an empty studio. In need of some serious cheering up, he reopened the recording sessions, envisaged playing the songs live and stripped away anything that was either too earnest or pretentious.
“Everybody Wants To Rule The World’ was one of the first songs I ever remember hearing” Roy offers. It was on cassette and I was strapped into the back of my Dad's car and we were going to the sweet shop. I must have been about 6. When lockdown came in 2020 I found comfort in nostalgia reworking these tracks that reminded me of my childhood. Coincidentally, Tears for Fears were also the last band I saw before lockdown. I took my Dad, 30 years on from him introducing the band to me, and it was the first time we had both seen the band live. They were magnificent.”
Throughout Scouting For Girls’ career, the band have sold over two million albums, two million singles, been nominated for 4 Brit Awards as well as an Ivor Novello, had four top ten singles, sold-out Wembley Arena, The Royal Albert Hall and, most recently, sold-out two nights at The London Palladium.
Easy Cover is set for release April 23rd, alongside a huge UK tour for Autumn 2021.
