Having closed its doors 14 months ago, Trafford’s leading arts venue Waterside has announced its re-opening from Monday 17th May ’21. A summer full of live theatre, music, visual arts, comedy, dance and spoken word awaits as artists and audiences alike are welcomed back with open arms. With robust Covid safety measures in place, visitors can re-engage with this vibrant arts venue with confidence and immerse themselves back into life as we once knew it!

After engaging over 38,000 people with a strong programme of online activity, it is time to take our eyes away from our laptop screens and step back into reality. Highlights this summer will include Waterside’s annual ten-day summer arts festival, Refract:21 (22-31 July ‘21), outdoor productions of The Great Gatsby and Mr Stink, comedy nights featuring Paul Foot, Mark Watson and Sofie Hagen, and one-off conversation events with music legends John Lydon and Francis Rossi.

Kicking off on Monday 17TH May, Waterside will run a programme of one-off comedy, cabaret, storytelling, dance and theatre shows to coincide with the borough’s annual Pride in Trafford Festival (Mon 17 – Sat 22 May ’21). This five-day celebration of identity and LGBTQ+ life is one not to be missed! Tickets for Pride in Trafford go on sale Monday 15th April at Pride in Trafford.

Reconnect, reunite, and experience things differently by joining Waterside in this momentous milestone and fantastic summer ahead.
