Experience the joy and magic of celluloid with the BFI Film on Film Festival, the only festival where every film is projected on film.
From 8-11 June, delve in to the extraordinary collection of the BFI National Archive with this weekend of special screenings including 16mm, 35mm and 70mm prints, as well as a series of rare nitrate screenings – including the oldest print ever to be projected in the UK.
The BFI National Archive’s curatorial team has selected a programme almost entirely from the national collection of film and television. They have used it as an excuse to highlight many underseen titles, a wide range of formats and some glorious prints. And if some occasionally appear less than perfect, they wear their scars with pride.
