Eye of The Storm

Eye of The Storm is award-winning documentary filmmaker, Anthony Baxter’s latest film about the late James Morrison- an artist who spent his life capturing dramatic landscapes around his Montrose home and the melting ice caps of the High Artic. The film will have its World Premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival on Sunday 28th February and will be available in the Spring for everyone to watch on the BBC Scotland Channel.



The documentary follows James Morrison over the last couple of years of his life. It tells the story of the artist’s early years, painting life in Glasgow, helping to revive landscape painting in Scotland, through to his dramatic encounter with a polar bear and his paintings of North West Greenland. The film follows James as he prepares for what was his last ever public exhibition at the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh in January 2020.
