On Kent’s coastal Romney Marsh, JAM on the Marsh returns with a stunning array of outstanding international and local artists, lighting up the coast with music, theatre, film and art exhibitions. The festival unfolds in a variety of locations; from intimate mediaeval churches to local gardens and steam railway carriages; bringing the arts to unexpected places.
Highlights of this year’s festival include a rare performance by Alexander Armstrong and Claire Booth performing the "audacity and rouge" of the Roaring 20s; Noel Coward, Ivor Novello and the Great American Songbook
Enjoy National Theatre Live screenings of Les Liaisons Dangereuses and one of the world's great brass ensembles, Black Dyke Band, in the intimate Marsh setting before the Proms. Bring a picnic and enjoy Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing by irreverent open-air Changeling Theatre under the big Marsh sky. Experience a rare 4-hand 1 piano recital including Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition by multi-award winning Thomas Kelly and John Frederick Hudson. Sky Arts’ Cyrill Ibrahim and JAM Sinfonia take the stage with two reimagined masterworks: Ravel's Piano Concerto and Debussy's La Mer. As one of three free exhibitions, experience the days, intricacies and tactile qualities of relief mark making in a breath-taking exhibition by Jillian Bain Christie.
