A night for where sitting still becomes impossible, Kweku of Ghana brings his masterful Afrobeat and his 9-piece band to Lewisham's Fox and Firkin.

At Culture Calling, we're big fans of K.O.G., for his revitalisation and modernisation of classic Afrobeat and highlife music, staying true to its musical core while giving it a fresh lick of paint for the streaming generation.

With Afro-jazz finding itself in revival mode in London, the music of West Africa is now in vogue. While various European-based artists have faithfully reinterpreted the music of Fela Kuti's day into new forms, Kweku of Ghana takes it back to its roots.

His 2022 album Zone 6, Agege made huge waves on release for representing a huge variety of music forms across the Black Atlantic, while acting as a blueprint for African artists with a penchant for the old styles.

A long, long awaited London appearance for the Ghanaian artist whose popularity is ever-soaring, Fox and Firkin are mighty proud to play host. A firesome 9-piece band may just be enough to tear their walls down.
