The Royal Academy of Arts have been working hard on ways to bring art and creativity to you during lockdown. And their programme of virtual events isn’t slowing down.

Join them for 'in conversation' events to hear from some of the most exciting voices in contemporary British art and have the opportunity to ask questions through a live Q&A.

They run a free Saturday Sketch Club weekly where a different tutor from the RA joins to explore drawing styles and techniques using materials you'll have at home.
Beginners and practising artists all welcome and they’ll focus on a new technique each week. Booking is essential on their website https://shop.royalacademy.org.uk/

After a difficult year, they want to celebrate a sense of community in this series of free, live-streamed workshops. Join artist tutors in the Royal Academy for the opportunity to be inspired and get creative.

Each Saturday morning session will be led by a different artist, and you’re welcome to drop into as many or as few as you’d like. All you’ll need is a pencil and paper, with each session exploring different techniques and styles.

Drawing is a practice both universal and ancient. These workshops – using the most basic of materials, pencil and paper – reconnect us with the present moment. You’ll learn to relate your mark-making to both your surroundings and your imagination, rendering your thoughts, feelings and ideas on paper.

You’ll be taught drawing techniques inspired by RA collections and exhibitions, as well as working from life models and objects from around your house. Sessions are suitable for all levels, so whether you’re a seasoned sketcher or a complete novice, you’ll find activities to inspire you.

These workshops will be delivered via a live webinar. Book free tickets at the RA website and you’ll be emailed your unique link to each workshop session.
