Undeterred by the latest bump in the roadmap, the Tower Theatre Company’s three-week festival Love [and Survival] in a Time of Covid will open with enthusiasm, energy and dedication that has marked its journey up until now. Over the 3 weeks, across 3 venues and curated by 3 women, this cross arts festival will combine artistic submissions from across the community as well as from Tower Theatre regulars, all of whom will be responding to the question: How did you get through the last difficult year?

Festival highlights include:

Anima - an A Cappella quintet fusing jazz and soul: “The music’s always fantastic” - The Guardian.

I can’t breathe - a collection of pieces examining what it means to be black today.

Her Inside: Women in Lockdown - a collection of poems, performance pieces and writings drawn from the blog by the same name.

Jubilee Voices - lockdown monologues written by year 6 students from Jubilee Primary performed by a company of adult actors.

Air - a full length play exploring grief, love and longing, using live Foley on stage.

Travels Around My Room - a radical adaptation of the 18th Century Classic by Xavier de Maistre

Future Proof - audio pieces written and performed by young members of Hackney Shed Theatre Company

Reflect on how we survived the past year and celebrate our re-emergence, more information can be found on the Tower Theatre website.
