Crate-digger and DJ rennaissance man Luke Una takes over Ministry's courtyard for a blessed summer's day (and night)
Luke Una may just be the best DJ you've never heard of. He has taken tracks from almost complete obscurity into modern dancefloor classics, and, in the spirit of Gilles Peterson, takes great influence from abroad, and in how obscure foreign music can be converted to the club.
Now, he brings his É Soul Cultura series to Ministry of Sound's fantastic courtyard space. It's only right to host an event like this outside. When his influences draw from Latin, Brazilian, African, and Meditteranean, it would be a crime to confine these vibes inside.
For a taste of what's to come, you can find Una's É Soul Cultura mixes on streaming services, although these are more compilations of obscure finds rather than club mixes. However, it should give you an idea of the range of taste the man has, and how willing he is to juxtapose seemingly disparate styles.
