
This May half term at The Lightbox starts with week of Jubilee themed workshops. A Cardboard Castles workshop for 5–7-year-olds on Tues 31 May and in the afternoon 8–11-year-olds can learn the skills to create an illustrated Royal emblem in this Royal Emblem Illustration workshop.
For families, there will be a free drop-in Crowns workshop on Wed 1 June. Where little ones can become their own member of royalty and create their very own crown.
The Lightbox will also have two exhibitions on display during half term for families to enjoy together. In the Main Gallery, A Window into Scottish Art: The Ingram and Fleming Collections will bring together significant works from two collections that explores the history of Scottish Art. A Window into Scottish Art will shine a spotlight on the character, inspiration, and talent of Scottish artists and provoke new ways of defining their achievements. In the Upper Gallery, William Crozier: Nature into Abstraction focuses on a remarkable series of landscape-inspired paintings produced by the Scots/Irish artist William Crozier (1930-2011) from 1959 to 1962.
