Music@Malling - Outstanding Music in Historic Venues
Music@Malling runs from 19th-27th September 2025 bringing world class musicians into the heart of the community.

Highlights include concerts by legendary pianist, Peter Donohoe CBE performing Olivier Messiaen; The London Sinfonietta - Cage and Boulez in words, music and film; Chamber Domaine performing Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos with new works by Zöe Martlew, Stevie Wishart, Deborah Pritchard and David Lang; star harpsichordist Stephen Devine at All Saints’ Tudeley with a recital of Bach and his Circle; a series of events at Malling Abbey exploring the influence of Hildegard of Bingen including a talk by distinguished music critic and writer Fiona Maddocks; The Telling - illuminate the life and times of Hildegard and the Marian Consort perform plainchant alongside new music inspired by Hildegard.
Other highlights include The Fidelio Trio performing Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn at Ightham Mote; Brahms + with Thomas Kemp - Violin, Huw Watkins - Piano and Ben Goldscheider - Horn performing Brahms and Brian Elias; Music to Picture - the Tippett Quartet perform music by Bernard Hermann including his music for Psycho; outstanding guitarist Craig Ogden performs an eclectic programme at Pilsdon Barn.
Jazz events include the James Pearson Trio celebrating the centenary of Oscar Peterson; The London Tango Quintet performing Astor Piazzola and the Callum Au Quintet performing Music From The Movies including works by John Williams, Randy Newman, Leonard Bernstein and Johnny Mandel.
Celebrated artist Ana Maria Pacheco collaborates with composer Zöe Martlew to create The Enchanted Garden - an installation of words, music and art to celebrate 40 years of the National Trust at Ightham Mote.
With music ranging from Hildegard of Bingen to the present day with 10 world premieres across the programme, talks, exhibitions and outreach - there is something for everyone in this programme.
