Orca at Bristol’s Old Vic

Visit websiteBook tickets

Set in a troubled rural village, the residents must choose a new Daughter to sail with the fishing boats and bless the waters, to keep the threat of the orcas that roam the sea at bay for another year. Whilst Fan eagerly wishes to be chosen for the task, her older sister Maggie dreads having to go with the boats. This beautiful village harbours the darkest of secrets, and Orca is an incisive, unflinching insight into what makes a community tolerate the unthinkable.

The production ties moody visuals of a remote island hut, with a strong performance from a small but talented cast to create an overall compelling and enjoyable show.

Orca runs until the 16 March, and tickets are £11-£15. Book tickets
