Plymouth Art Weekender 2020

25 September 2020 to 27 September 2020Visit website

On Friday 25th-Sunday 27th September, the annual Plymouth Art Weekender takes place across 33 locations in the city and has 65 events, showcasing the work of innovative artists and designers. Many of the artworks uncover the shared struggles that we have faced during the pandemic, encouraging discussion over these times and how we begin to adjust into this new way of living.
Most events will take place in both indoor and outdoor venues, with socially distancing measures, whilst others can be found online. There are three commissioned artists who will take centre stage across the weekend. The first being John Walter, performing, Lockdown Tarot, a fortune-telling performance and response to the global pandemic through humour and absurdity. Harriet Rose Morley, a multi-disciplinary artist, presents How did we, How do we, How will we care?, a project developed from the networks of care in Plymouth and its importance throughout these unparalleled times. William Luz has created a temporary public art work, A Pavilion for U.S, a combination of screen, structure and explores the idea of union, which will be discussed over the course of Plymouth Art Weekender.
Other artworks to see include conservation projects, outdoor installations and collective readings. The full list of events is on the Plymouth Art Weekender website
