Rediscover the Walker Art Gallery

The Walker Art Gallery has been on William Brown Street for more than a century and has been a constant through so much of Liverpool’s history. While COVID-19 has impacted all of us in 2020, and continues to impact our lives, we hope that by keeping our gallery open, a favourite refuge for many, we can give people some sense of normality.

The gallery is a space of wonder, curiosity and inspiration, which so many of us are missing. While the measures we have in place mean visits are not entirely back to normal, a lot of thought and planning has been put into place to enable visitors to enjoy their experience as much as possible, while staying safe. It’s an opportunity to appreciate our venues with more tranquillity, allowing our visitors to immerse themselves in the joy of arts and culture providing some respite and escapism from the situation facing us all globally.

From the romance of the Pre-Raphaelites to the beauty of the sculpture gallery and sheer creativity of the craft and design collection the Walker Art Gallery remains a place to transport and engage visitors with stories of art, history, and the natural world.”
