Mondays host an interactive storytime with Zoolab, Tuesdays become Toddler Tuesdays with special adventures suited for the little ones (0-4 years old). Wednesdays are Wellbeing Wednesdays where you can connect with nature on a guided Wildfulness Walk heightening all of your senses. Thursdays host the Big Bug Hunt where you will be picking up your magnifying glass and joining the education team to find out all about the creepy crawlies that live in the garden. Then finally… Fridays host Wild Wings birds of prey where you will be able to meet incredible birds big and small and watch them take flight. And that’s not all! Whilst these wonderful activities are taking place there is also planting and craft activities on many of the days. A full breakdown can be found on RHS Bridgewater website.

The inspiring gardener’s paradise is set across 154 acres and the gardening team go above and beyond to refresh and develop the various gardens and houses. The Paradise Garden and The Chinese Streamside Garden are particularly stunning, and we agree that no visit would be complete without taking a walk around the historical Ellesmere Lake which dates back to the 1840s.

Another unmissable area of the gardens is the Bridgewater Garden Centre stocked full of houseplants, unique plants and shrubs, gardening tools and accessories, as well as an eclectic selection of gifts and homewares. This area is dog friendly too, so you can bring along your four-legged companion.

Memberships are available so you can enjoy the garden all year round and also take advantage of grabbing the garden specialists for help, advice and inspiration for your own gardening endeavours. As a member you can also take advantage of discounts around the garden and shop, as well as gain access to other events across the year.

There are also plenty of food options for all tummies with the Bridgewater Cafe and Garden Cottage Cafe both open throughout the summer. Bridgewater Cafe offers a relaxing dining experience where you can enjoy a delicious coffee or lunch overlooking the Victoria Meadow. Whilst the Garden Cottage Cafe which is located inside the garden offers light bites and sweet snacks. The Garden is easily assessable via their nearest main stations being Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria (in the city centre, 9 miles away).
