Looking for a last minute night out? The only Royal Marines Band stationed north of Portsmouth is coming to the RNCM and our students are joining them for a spectacular evening of music. Highlights include our very own saxophone tutor Rob Buckland performing Jay Capperauld’s saxophone concerto, Hypnic Impact.

RNCM Session Orchestra: Re-imagined

From The Beatles reworked as gospel funk, to Katy Perry in the style of a Latin samba and Eminem as classic jazz, spend your Saturday night with the RNCM Session Orchestra. Students from across the classical and popular music schools combine forces for an evening of jam packed and energy filled music.

RNCM Wind Orchestra with Mikhail Nemtsov (cello)

Join our Honorary Associate Artist Mikhail Nemtsov (cello) and RNCM students for an exhilarating programme of contemporary works for cello and wind orchestra. 

Mikhail Nemtsov is an RNCM alumnus (2015) and Principal Cello with the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra.

An Evening with the RNCM Songsters and Chamber Choir

Discover the forgotten voices of song and choral music. In this intimate event, our students highlight the remarkable artistic achievements of female composers alongside readings to coincide with this year’s International Women’s Day.

RNCM Symphony Orchestra with Clark Rundell Saturday 19 March 2022, 7.30 pm

Be inspired by works from our composition tutors and leading contemporary composers all brought to life by our symphony orchestra. Highlights include Gary Carpenter’s Dadaville inspired by Max Ernst’s 1924 artwork of the same name.

Le nozze di Figaro (‘The Marriage of Figaro’)

From its riveting overture to its magnificent arias, Le nozze di Figaro is the pinnacle of Mozart’s musical genius and flare for dramatically capturing the most human of desires.

Our 18th century production sees students from across the College team up with a renowned creative team to bring this iconic work to life. It is theatrical comedy at its best with lust, love, and deception at the core of every twist and turn.

MIUAWGA Ensemble with Laura Jurd (trumpet)
Friday 01 April 2022, 7.30pm

Come and experience the musical conversation created by our students through their in-the-moment musical choices.

Make-it-up-as-we-go-along (MIUAWGA) is the RNCM’s only ensemble dedicated entirely to making music through improvisation. We’re delighted to be joined by trumpeter and improvisational specialist Laura Jurd for this unique event.
