Scotland’s International Poetry Festival

6 March 2021 to 14 March 2021Visit website

One of the top poetry festivals in the UK, StAnza is famous for its friendly atmosphere and international focus, the place to hear favourite poets, discover new voices and – in happier times – to enjoy the beautiful town of St Andrews and StAnza’s lively festival hub. Make it New is one of their 2021 themes so this online festival brings St Andrews to you virtually, in installations and games and virtual poetry walks, along with all the readings, performances, discussions, poetry inspired installations and exhibitions and other cross-media performances from more than 100 poets and other artists and writers.

Take part in a wide range of workshops, a masterclass and open mic events, or enjoy Zoom chatting in the lively virtual festival café with a coffee or drink in your hand. Headliners include Adam Zagajewski, Naomi Shihab Nye, Maria Stepanova, Jericho Brown, Valzhyna Mort, Tim Liardet, Ilya Kaminsky, Raymond Antrobus, Imtiaz Dharker, Tishani Doshi, Colette Bryce, Rab Wilson, Christopher Whyte and Roger Robinson with spoken word from Desree, Courtney and Ink Asher Hemp. The 2021 translated language focus is Beyond the Iron Curtain, and most events are free to access on a Pay-What-You-Can basis. Supported by Creative Scotland.
